Cutting

Once a rough diamond has been sawn and blueprinted, the first process in rounding the shape of the diamond begins. This is called cutting. Each diamond is placed on a rotating spindle similar in concept to a lathe. Opposite that diamond is another rotating diamond on another spindle. The two diamonds are brought together in a computer- controlled process, which ensures that each diamond achieves a high degree of roundness with the use of minimal pressure, thereby avoiding any potential stress- related problems.

After cutting, the diamond will have achieved its initial round shape.
